COLLECTIVE ON FARM FODDER AUCTION

Our first winter collective on farm auction of fodder was held on Tuesday 29^th January. The sale was very well attended and close to 1000 tons of hay, straw and silage was put under the hammer. The day’s sale took in eight different farms ranging from Norton St Philip to Dundry, Nr Bristol. Demand was particularly strong for the straw which all sold at premium rates. Clamped and baled silage had a steady trade as did the conventional baled hay. Big square and round baled hay found buyers selective and generally easier than last year.
