Huge Support at Local Sale

A tremendous crowd gathered to support the machinery dispersal sale at Shute Farm Crockerton, which was held on Friday 15^th March on behalf of the late Chris May. Having been a tenant at the Longleat Estate farm for some 20 years it was a great shock to everyone at his sudden death in September of last year. The machinery offered for sale was of a high standard and had been meticulously maintained and predominantly used with respect by the vendor. In addition to the local and neighbouring farmers many travelled much farther a field including Ireland. “It is fantastic to see such strong support for the family on this difficult occasion” said Cooper and Tanner auctioneer Trevor Rowland.

Demand for quality second hand machinery is excellent at the moment and all 300 lots on offer produced very competitive bidding throughout the day. In addition to the machinery the well maintained 12/12 herringbone parlour, bulk tank and fittings created strong interest and with the improved returns in the dairy sector commanded good prices.
