Dispersal Sale of the herd of Friesian Holstein 6600 litre Loose Housed cows for Messrs D & GJ Stevens, Maiden Bradley at Frome Market.

A tremendous crowd of local and away buyers were all very keen for these good improving types.

A strong overall average of £1100 was achieved. Demand for younger low cell count cows and heifers was excellent and plenty sold in excess of £1400. Top price of £1810 for a 2nd lactation dam sired by ‘Avenham Westminster’ and others over £1700 four times. Older 5-6th lactation cows commanded good prices generally £800-£1000. Dry 2000 born Ayrshire cows due April achieved super prices to £920!
