Marlborough Sale Attracts Large Crowds
Park Farm, Cadley
Monday 21st September saw Cooper & Tanner auctioneers conduct a full dispersal sale of farm machinery and effects on behalf of Guy and Jane Sainsbury at Park Farm, Cadley, Nr Marlborough. This totally genuine dispersal was due to the decision by Guy & Jane to relinquish their farm tenancy and retire from farming. The original tenancy was taken by Mr Stuart Sainsbury on entering the farm some 71 years ago in 1938. Guy took over from his father following his retirement in 1970 and has continued to manage the 380 acres at Park Farm to the highest standards. Run as a commercial dairy unit the herd was dispersed over two sales in July and September prior to the machinery. A good spell of weather saw everyone in fine spirits and this together with a wide range of implements and quality milking parlour attracted a very large sale attendance. Bidding was strong throughout the day and all machinery was in the highest of demand from cattle crushes to 4wd tractors. Auctioneer Trevor Rowland said “ it was super to see such a large number of clients both old and new coming to support Guy & Jane for their final sale at the farm, the cattle had sold really well so it was nice to also have a good trade for the machinery”. The highlight of the day was the two John Deere 6320 4wd tractors, owned from new, these well presented machines saw very competitive bidding finally selling one to a local client and the other to Ireland.
