Huge Crowds Attend Sale

Despite very heavy rain large crowds attended Cooper & Tanner’s spring collective machinery sale held at Frome Market on Thursday 25th March. A tremendous entry of second hand machinery and new tools saw some 700 lots come under the auctioneers hammer during the day. “Buyers were out in force and with a strong euro both local and export clients were all keen to purchase” said Auctioneer Trevor Rowland. Many varied items of good clean machinery were forward and were very suitable for the sale goers attending. The lots which stretched across two sale fields saw bidders undeterred by the heavy rain all hoping to buy one of the 30 trailers, 20 tractors, rollers, haybobs etc which were on offer. Trade remained excellent throughout the day and looks set to hold until our autumn sale here in October. One of the interesting lots of the day was one of the last Leyland 602 tractors before they became Marshall. Painted in the Marshall livery and presented from a local farmer finally sold for £3,900 being over four times its original price when new!
