DESCRIPTION A beautiful four bedroom detached character cottage set within the heart of the thriving village of Westbury sub Mendip and offered with no onward chain. Parts of this Somerset Long House style property are believed to date back to the 1600's with recent additions such as new roof, Windows, kitchen, utility room, shower room, heating and electrics.
Upon entering the property is a large glazed entrance hall with a stained glass door opening into a bright, generous sitting room with wood burner and a bay window overlooking the village. The dining room has an original stone fireplace with an inset wood burner along with built in cabinets and a lovely aspect over the gardens. The kitchen comprises a range of base units with wooden worktops, a larder, range cooker and ample space for a farmhouse kitchen style table. Adjoining the kitchen is a utility room with units and door out to the patio, gardens and pathway leading to the drive. The downstairs shower room features a large shower, toilet, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
Stairs with storage beneath lead to the first floor landing. The main bedroom, with built in wardrobes, has a lovely view back over the village square with countryside in the distance. There are two further double bedrooms, both having quaint window seats and built in storage. The fourth bedroom is a single or could be used as a home office if required. The bathroom features a 'P' shaped bath with shower above and wash hand basin, a seperate w/c with wash hand basin adjoins it.
OUTSIDE The gardens run alongside the property facing South with a large area of lawn, a variety of shrubs, plants and trees. A patio at the front of the house provides a brilliant space for outside furniture. A stone barn which has power and light would make for a perfect workshop or to be used as additional storage. The parking area can comfortably accommodate for or five cars on a gravel drive along with a double garage with up and over door, electric, light and side pedestrian door.
