DESCRIPTION A Grade II listed double fronted residence that dates back to the 1650s. Flexible seven-bedroom accommodation, beautifully landscaped gardens and a detached coach house that is currently run successfully for air B&B. Driveway parking and a garage. The Old House has been extended and improved over the years to create a comfortable and flexible family home.
ACCOMMODATION Throughout the house there are a number of period features including sash windows, exposed wooden floors, exposed wooden beams, picture rails and a number of fireplaces. The living room is an excellent size with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burner inset and window overlooking the gardens to the front of the house. There is a formal dining room with a second wood-burner, a large study with built-in shelving and a breakfast room adjoining the kitchen. The kitchen is complete with a range of wall and base units, a 'Rangemaster' oven with hob and a door to the rear gardens. There is also a laundry room, two cloakrooms and a store room on the ground floor.
On the first floor there is an impressive light and airy landing with a large window overlooking the gardens offering access to four well-proportioned bedrooms. The master bedroom has a stylish en-suite bathroom, the remaining three share the family bathroom and all have wash facilities.
On the second floor we have a charming attic room with exposed Apex beams and two bedrooms.
COACH HOUSE AND GARDENS The Old House is accessed via a long driveway that leads to the parking area, the garage and the self- contained coach house. The coach house is currently set out for air B&B and comprises a large living/sleeping area, a kitchenette and bathroom. This could suit somebody wanting a home office away from the main house or somebody wanting to house a teenager or dependant relative.
The gardens to the front are predominantly laid to lawn and include large lawns and a number of mature trees. There is an area to the right hand side that has previously been used to keep chickens. The gardens to the rear have been landscaped beautifully and provide another lawn with a number of plants, a seating area and a productive vegetable plot.
