A royal visit for rural team hero

Cooper and Tanner’s Rural Services team recently enjoyed taking part in the Field to Food Learning Day held at the Bath and West Showground. With over 1400 local school children in attendance, the day aims to educate young consumers about where their food comes from, and the hard work farmers, and associated companies, do to make sure they eat the very best of British food.

Tim Hector, Director and Rural Surveyor at Cooper and Tanner ran the mock dairy cattle auction on the day and said: “We were delighted to be invited to the Field to Food event. It’s wonderful when children get involved and have a hands-on experience, and truly see behind the scenes of where the food they eat comes from. It was great to see some budding auctioneers in the making, and an honour to have a visit from the HRH Duchess of Edinburgh to our activity too.”

With a century-long legacy as livestock auctioneers at Frome Market, Cooper and Tanner also offer a range of rural services, including valuations, landlord and tenant advice, finance and planning, with offices in Standerwick and Glastonbury. Contact the team at 01373 831010.
