Antiques and Collectables Sales return for 2021 online

Antiques and Collectables Sales return for 2021 online hero
Our Antiques and Collectables sale returned online this week for the first time in 2021 was a roaring success! Despite being postponed for four months due to lockdown the hammer prices at the sale were better than ever.

An incredibly strong area was a good collection of Chinese and oriental ceramics, with excellent results achieved for a large Chinese vase that sold for £2,600 followed by the hammer coming down on a pair of lovely blue and white Chinese ginger jars at £1,000 alongside many other items. An unusual blue Triumph Stag was up for sale for renovation and after strong bidding sold for £2,000 and a Castrol motor oil glass globe selling well above estimate at £600. As ever jewellery, silver and coins performed well. Stoneware and outdoor items have always been a best seller at the Sale Rooms and a magnificent pair of reconstituted stone lions caused quite a stir with three telephone bids as well as interest from the internet eventually selling on the hammer at £1,300. The star of the sale was an unlabelled violin and bow stamped Lupot, in need of rather a lot of restoration it had generated a lot of interest in the run up to sale day, and after a long bidding war it sold for £2,400.
